We now offer Occupational Therapy Services

Occupational therapists work with children and young people who have difficulties with participating in everyday activities that they want, need or are expected to do.  These activities include developing independence with self-care tasks (washing, dressing, toileting and eating), engagement in learning and school-based occupations such as handwriting, as well as support around engagement and development of skills required for the main childhood occupation, play.

Children can experience challenges with participating in these everyday activities due to difficulties with motor skills, visual perceptual skills and / or sensory processing differences.  Occupational therapists’ work collaboratively with school staff, parents and pupils, to complete assessment of functional skills, taking into account the personal, task specific and environmental factors that may contribute to occupational performance challenges.  The therapist will aim to find ways to support, either through environmental adaptation, use of equipment or activities to develop skills, to enable participation in activities and daily tasks that are important to children and young people.
